Meet Cloe
Cloe knows firsthand how meaningful a tutor’s support can be. When she was struggling in a course she needed for university, her own tutor helped her improve her grade, believe in herself and continue working toward her goals.
She hopes to make that same difference for her students by creating a positive environment where they feel supported, even when the material initially seems challenging. As a native French speaker and French Immersion graduate, Cloe is especially comfortable helping students strengthen their French-language skills.
What Sessions with Cloe Are Like
Cloe begins by reviewing the material with the student and asking questions to determine what makes sense and where the confusion begins. She then goes back to the first missing concept and builds understanding from there.
She uses alternate explanations, examples, diagrams, colour coding, guided practice and review activities to accommodate different ways of learning. If a student becomes frustrated or overwhelmed, Cloe maintains a positive approach and may briefly change activities before returning to the challenging concept.
Education & Experience
Cloe graduated from the French Immersion program at Foothills Composite High School and is completing a Bachelor of Arts in Criminology at the University of Regina. She received early acceptance to university and hopes to pursue a career as a lawyer.
Although Cloe is new to professional tutoring, she has approximately eight years of experience helping her two younger sisters with their schoolwork. She has supported them in elementary math, reading, writing and high school biology by simplifying explanations, creating diagrams and providing practice with similar questions.
Beyond Tutoring
Outside of university and tutoring, Cloe enjoys reading, working out and doing her nails. She has participated in dance, gymnastics and skiing and has travelled extensively. While many people dread a long road trip, Cloe looks forward to the drive and enjoys taking in the scenery along the way.
