Meet Reece
Reece has always been enthusiastic about mathematics and loves watching his students make progress. He has supported students in improving both their grades and their attitude toward math by helping difficult concepts feel more approachable.
Reece believes students make the greatest progress when tutoring focuses on the specific misunderstanding behind a problem. He takes time to identify that gap before helping the student rebuild their understanding.
What Sessions with Reece Are Like
Reece adapts his explanations and teaching methods to suit the individual student. He uses regular check-ins to make sure students understand the material, feel comfortable with their progress and have opportunities to share what would help them learn more effectively.
He also gets to know his students and incorporates their interests into practice questions when possible. This makes sessions more engaging while helping students connect unfamiliar concepts to something they already understand.
Education & Experience
Reece graduated from the University of British Columbia with a Bachelor of Science in Mathematics and a concentration in Data Science and Statistics. He is beginning a Bachelor of Education at St. Mary’s University and plans to become a high school math teacher.
Reece brings two years of tutoring experience and has worked with students across multiple grade levels. His professional experience also includes positions with RBC and ICM Asset Management.
Beyond Tutoring
Reece enjoys watching and playing sports, especially hockey and golf. He also has a collection of more than 20 NHL jerseys!
