Meet Clark
Clark enjoys solving problems and working with people who need support. While in school, he regularly helped a group of classmates understand daily math assignments, compare homework and work through questions they found challenging.
His own school experience showed Clark how valuable it can be to have someone listen, explain a problem clearly and work alongside a student without assuming what they already understand.
What Sessions with Clark Are Like
Clark begins by listening to the student and identifying the areas in which they need the most support. Depending on the student, sessions may include direct demonstrations, reviewing previous assessments or working through difficult parts of current homework.
He develops lessons around specific learning gaps and connects those skills to the work the student is completing in class. Clark may also use short, low-pressure practice questions to check understanding and help determine what to focus on next.
Education & Experience
Clark is a third-year Communications and Media Studies student at the University of Calgary and is interested in teaching at the post-secondary level. He graduated from high school with honours and has experience providing informal math support to his classmates.
His customer-facing work at Winners, the Costco Garden Centre and Home Depot has also helped him develop strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Beyond Tutoring
Outside of university and tutoring, Clark enjoys video editing, video games and movies. He is also very interested in extinct animals!
