Meet Ahmed
Ahmed enjoys tutoring because it gives him the opportunity to help others progress and become more confident in their abilities. His approach focuses on understanding the reasoning behind a concept rather than memorizing steps or shortcuts.
Ahmed is patient and willing to explain an idea in different ways until it makes sense. He wants students to feel comfortable expressing confusion, asking questions and working through mistakes without fear of failure.
What Sessions with Ahmed Are Like
Ahmed begins by assessing the student’s current understanding and preferred way of learning. He adjusts the pace of his explanations while keeping sessions structured enough to help students stay on track with their coursework.
Sessions are interactive, with students encouraged to attempt problems, ask questions and explain their thinking. Ahmed breaks challenging material into manageable steps and gives students time to process new concepts. He also has experience supporting a student with ADHD and understands the importance of patience, flexibility and encouragement.
Education & Experience
Ahmed is an Electrical Engineering student at the University of Calgary and hopes to pursue a career in electrical power systems. One of his proudest academic accomplishments is receiving the highest mark in the world on his advanced mathematics exams.
He has worked as a teaching assistant, marking quizzes and assignments and providing students with constructive feedback. Ahmed also has experience helping high school students understand challenging algebra concepts and prepare for assessments.
Beyond Tutoring
Outside of university and tutoring, Ahmed enjoys going to the gym and playing tennis. He also knows how to solve a Rubik’s Cube!
